I met Rachel earlier this year and was immediately captivated by her infectious positive energy and zest for life. She's the type of person who invigorates and energizes you just by being around her. As I got to know Rachel better, she revealed her exciting new venture : she's an online travel agent and she also helps other women to build their own travel business's. I wanted to share this with you because, ever since having the boys, finding time to plan vacations has been nearly impossible. I often end up overpaying—either because I'm unsure of what I want or simply don't have the time to keep searching. Rachel might be the solution to that problem! Check out her story below:

Hi, I'm Rachel. I have lived on the island for 8 years with my partner Rocky and am mummy to my 2 year old boy River. I am a qualified early years educator and have spent the last 7 years managing children’s events and entertainment. Prior to going on maternity leave, I also co-directed an early years language project here on the island.

Before moving to Ibiza, I always pursued roles in travel, event planning and coordination. I have a degree in modern languages and feel that starting my travel business has brought me back to my roots and perfectly ties together my skills and passions. 

I am now a registered independent travel agent and travel business mentor. 

Simply put I am:

• Able to travel more, am earning money back from my own travels and receive incredible insider rates.

• Earning commissions that are built in to every aspect of travel as an income by booking travel for others 

• Helping others become an independent travel agent and growing a team of agents.

I am the founder of the Balearic Travel Boutique, which specialises in bespoke Balearic travel itineraries. I am also able to book worldwide travel destinations be them short, mid or long haul.

People are travelling more than ever and by using the services of an independent travel agent, you receive a free travel advisory service, financial protection using ABTA & ATOL protected suppliers and a personalised, knowledgeable service that acts as your search engine, call centre and booking agent all rolled into one.

In addition to my travel booking service, I also help others set up as an independent agent and form part of a wider network of incredibly supportive and likeminded individuals (predominantly female) that are all championing one another’s successes. I really do feel like I’ve found my calling and cannot wait to expand my travel business even further. 

I run an Instagram page (@ibizatravelmum) where I document my life here in Ibiza, openly discuss motherhood, grief, infertility, IVF and showcase my ever growing travel business. For me, It’s more than just a social media page, it’s a platform to offer hope to those who need it and to motivate other women and mums to just go for it and take a leap of faith.

The combination of watching River grow so fast and my dad dying suddenly last year has made me realise that time is the most precious commodity we own.

Finding a flexible business model that fits around being a mummy is the most important thing for me. A business where I can set my own goals, hours, work from anywhere and build towards a residual income that supports my family for years to come. I can’t wait to help more women set up their travel businesses so that they too can start to live a life on their terms.
