Since having baby number 2, my mind is constantly writing this blog! I am always thinking of things I would like (and need) to share, to get off my chest. The truth is there are some things that you just don't feel comfortable speaking about. Some things that you feel you will be judged on or thought badly about if you voice your opinions or feelings.
I have felt this acutely since becoming a mother. But it stops now. Over the last year, my eyes and ears have been opened to a whole new movement of women throughout the world that are starting to normalise every aspect of what it feels like to be a mother, to explore their matresence. Now more than ever, there are so many resources available to help us all through this journey of matresence and make us realise that we really aren't alone. If you are feeling a certain way in motherhood, you can bet that there are millions of women who are also feeling the same way. Its this that we need to shine a light on.
The goal with The Mothership is to create a completely honest and authentic support system. To offer a platform where parents can be brutally honest about how they are feeling and what the are going through. I also strongly believe that everyone is different and what works for one family might not work for another. Judgement is so common in a lot of motherhood circles, and I myself have felt it in the past. It makes you feel like a failure, like a fraud, like you don't know what you are doing (which you most likely don't!) but neither does anyone else! We are all playing the guessing game, and to shame or judge another parent for their opinions or choices of what to do and how to raise their child is just ridiculous.
So, that is the why! Thats why we are here. The mission to create a community of parents who can support and cheer eachother on. Especially when you are living away from family here in Ibiza, its important to be able to have a chosen family, people to turn to. The aim is to be that family, and help you create your own by meeting other likeminded parents and bringing some fun along the way.
See you soon,
Louise x
